Tribute from nephew Andrew Hoad. Uncle Chris .... my memories of you are all happy ones. As a child, I remember you as the Uncle that always livened up the room when you entered. You brought a fun energy with you, telling us witty stories, usually pulling my leg over something or other and generally being just a bit more cheeky than Nan and Grandad approved of. When I was a teenager you very kindly offered to take my under your wing to give me some summer work in the building trade. We had a good laugh together even though I suspect that you very quickly realised that I was never going to be in your league of master craftsman ! Later on in life, when I contemplated my first parachute jump, I recall how you took such a strong and genuine interest. You actively shared with me a lot of your interesting experience of parachute jumping and even lent me a very good book (which I think that I still have !). Having spent a lot of my adult life living overseas, we have of course seen less of each other but whenever chance did happen to bring us together again I always enjoyed that. Farewell fun Uncle
